This summer, AustCham China, JinShang Yuan and Uscom are proud to present Stories Across Time, a cross-cultural exhibition bringing together Australian Indigenous Culture and Mike Emery's China 1980 photography series.
Australian Indigenous culture reveal the deep connections between people, land and memory. Alongside these works, Mike Emery's photographs offer a rare window into China in 1980. From visitors walking along the Great Wall to cyclists moving through city streets, the images capture ordinary moments from a period of profound social and economic change. Created in different places and shaped by different histories, both collections speak to the ways in which culture, people and places are remembered across time.
